Bob Bauer named 2008 Attorney of the Year

In 2008, attorney Bob Bauer received the distinct honor of being named a 2008 "Attorney of the Year” by Minnesota Lawyer.  Minnesota Lawyer’s editorial staff selected lawyers in Minnesota for this honor, based on leadership in the legal profession, involvement in major cases or other newsworthy events, excellence in corporate or transactional services, and public service.

Mr. Bauer was selected for this accolade as a result of his work assisting clients in obtaining a $22,685,638.08 judgment against the principals of the Investment Properties of Minnesota ("IPM") corporate entities.  IPM was an investment scheme used to defraud many hard-working Minnesotans.  Mr. Bauer and the IPM litigation team assisted the firm's clients in holding the IPM principals accountable for their fraudulent acts.

Mr. Bauer worked closely with a number of Dougherty, Molenda, Solfest, Hills & Bauer attorneys in the IPM litigation, each of whom contributed significantly to the success of the case.  Those team members include Stephen A. Ling, Thomas R. Donely and Jessica L. Sanborn.  The  IPM litigation team also included legal assistants Katherine Wolterman and Jennifer Thompson, each of whom provided important logistical and legal support to both attorneys and clients.
