Overview

Nolan Bessler is an associate attorney at Dougherty, Molenda, Solfest, Hills & Bauer P.A., where he focuses primarily on civil litigation. He helps individuals and businesses evaluate disputes, understand their options, and pursue resolutions consistent with their goals. His approach emphasizes thorough preparation, careful legal analysis, and clear communication throughout the litigation process.

Nolan’s background includes experience advocating for clients and supporting attorneys in a range of civil matters. As a certified student attorney with Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services, he represented eligible clients in civil and administrative hearings and prepared briefs, motions, and other legal documents. Before law school, he worked in a large law firm supporting attorneys in the corporate, securities, and mergers and acquisitions departments. These experiences inform his attention to both the legal issues and the practical considerations affecting clients.

In addition to civil litigation, Nolan assists with probate and estate administration matters and supports the firm’s municipal clients in criminal prosecution.

Nolan earned his Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where he won the Fourth Annual Summit Cup Motion Competition and served as a research assistant to Professor Michael Steenson. He graduated summa cum laude from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and a minor in Business Law. His academic work included research on trade secret protections and competition by former employees, which he presented at an Academy of Legal Studies in Business conference.
