Sharon K. Hills is a shareholder with Dougherty, Molenda, Solfest, Hills & Bauer P.A. Sharon has been with the firm for 28 years, practicing primarily in the area of family law. Sharon handles various types of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal maintenance, modification of custody, support and maintenance, and prenuptial agreements. Sharon's many years of experience and knowledge in family law matters make a difficult process much easier to bear, helping you make sound, informed decisions about critical legal issues involved in your case. In cases such as a divorce, Sharon has the experience and resources to identify and handle the multi-dimensional issues involved: financial impacts of asset and debt division, tax ramifications of spousal maintenance or dependency tax exemptions, and benefits of comprehensive custody and parenting time schedules.

Today's families are diverse, but the confronting issues and the course for resolution are parallel across the family spectrum. Sharon genuinely enjoys working with clients who come from all walks of life and lifestyles, as well as differing cultural and financial circumstances. Sharon has represented numerous clients in cases involving division of property interests between cohabitating partners. Sharon represents clients throughout the Twin Cities, but represents clients mostly at home in Dakota County, as well as Scott, Carver and Goodhue Counties.

During her many years with the firm, Sharon has successfully argued and defended many cases before the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Minnesota Supreme Court. Sharon is a leading family law attorney in Dakota County and has been repeatedly named to the Super Lawyers® list by her peers in the Minnesota bar.

In addition to her family law practice, Sharon practices regularly in the area of municipal law, providing representation to the Cities of Apple Valley and Eagan. This representation involves land use issues, city code enforcement and violation prosecution, and city ordinance enforcement and drafting.

When not practicing law and representing her clients, Sharon enjoys gardening, fly fishing for the local trout and restoring her 1901 farm house.
